Sophie Arlott, from Lavinton Lamb talks about life as a shepherdess and fulfilling her dreams to become a top lamb producer on Amy Claridge’s Lincolnshire Kitchen on BBC Radio Lincolnshire.

Great Taste winners are all genuine food people who care about the quality of food and drink they produce. Those producers entered 12,366 products with only 165 foods achieving the highest and most coveted rating, three stars. We had 1011 foods grabbing 2 stars and 3171 were awarded a 1 star. That means only 35% of entries were accredited – it’s tough.
Food or drink awarded a Great Taste star-rating has gone through a rigorous taste test. Judged by chefs, restaurateurs, food hall & deli buyers, acclaimed cooks, food writers and critics, every product has passed the palate test of a minimum of eight experts.The judges are looking for truly great taste. They take into account the texture, appearance and of course the ingredients; they like a good aroma, a decent bite, a smooth finish or a lingering flavour. Everything comes back to taste. Is it really, truly great?
