Lavinton Lamb on Saturday Kitchen

Last weekend was a hectic and exciting one for Lavinton Lamb. While Sophie and Robert were busy meeting our lovely customers at Barnes Food Fair on Saturday, our lamb was making its TV debut – in the capable hands of the chefs’ favourite chef, Sat Bains.

A shoulder of our Lavinton Lamb was cooked by Sat (left of picture) as one of the guest chefs on Saturday Kitchen on BBC1, presented by James Martin. Saturday Kitchen has a regular audience of around two million.

Douro Special

The wine lady, Susy Atkins, paired our lamb with a Douro Extra Special 2014 (tempranillo and grenache, described as smooth and spicy with blackberry notes), and commented afterwards on Twitter that it had been “a joy to match with wine”!

This is the programme – you can watch it on the BBC iPlayer till 18 October.

And this is the recipe which Sat used – Greek-style lamb (it wasn’t mutton!)

Meanwhile in south-west London, our Merguez and Moroccan lamb sausages, proud winners of Great Taste awards, together with our burgers and our lamb legs, went like hot cakes at the Barnes Food Fair.
